Dermal Rolling / CST
How it Works?
Tiny needles pierce through the epidermis and into the top layer of the dermis causing tiny wounds. This sets off the body's natural healing response and produces lots of fresh collagen and elastin.Because the needles pass through the epidermis it heels rapidly unlike laser treatments which remove the epidermis.
Advantages
-
This procedure does not damage the skin. The skin regenerates and actually becomes thicker.
-
The healing phase is short, usually within 3–5 days the skin returns to normal.
-
It is not as expensive as laser resurfacing.
-
Sun sensitivity is a major and enduring problem in laser resurfacing, whereas with Dermal Rolling after needling of the skin, the horny layer rapidly returns to its original thickness and the skin is not left sun sensitive.
-
Whilst we cannot achieve an as intense a deposition of collagen as in laser resurfacing, we can repeat the treatment and get even better results that will last just as long, if not longer.
